In the Community
Jabari has spent years advocating for more resources and better opportunities in his community. Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Jabari has witnessed resources and opportunities be consistently ripped away for 30 years. He is passionate about bringing universal healthcare and childcare to IL, fighting back against how AI and data centers are being used against residents, and building innovative, and well paying jobs to youth and working adults in the district.
Affordability and economic justice
Our elected officials are ignoring the demands of those in our community, and allowing AI to replace workers, drive up electricity and water cost, and drive up groceries.
I want to bring public owned groceries stores to our district, so that the cost of everyday essential items are more than just affordable, they are abundant. I am fighting to make sure that every single child in our district has access to culturally relevant food and never goes hungry.
I am fighting back against the rising cost of utility bills, and will use every possible mean to ensure those in our community don't get priced out of their home!
I am passionate about making sure everyone in our district has access to meaningful, comprehensive and quality healthcare and childcare.
We need innovative and creative approaches, such as Intergenerational shared spaces that allow elders and our children. No more closed hospitals, and exploitation of resources!
Universal Healthcare & Childcare
I have passionately worked to improve access to high quality careers, and build career pathways for students of all races in our state from middle school to post grad for STEM and health professions. I want to expand that farther, and bring paid apprenticeships to our high school students, shorter work weeks for our working adults, and career exploration for middle school students. I fully stand behind all union workers in our district.
